A Way to Connect, Co., was founded in the United States in 2006 by a multinational team of language instructors and educational administrators with experience teaching in colleges, universities, private schools, and non-profit schools in Argentina, China, Costa Rica, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, the U.S.A., Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.

Our goal is to provide the high-quality language training and resources necessary for workers in developing non-English-speaking countries to reach their professional goals.

All AWAYTOC courses, materials, and programs, and staff are committed to demonstrating and promoting the value of...

1. every person

There are no unimportant people. Each person has dignity and value. Each person deserves respect, kindness, and our service.

2. learning

Learning is life-long. We do not have all of the answers. At every point of life, the beginning of wisdom is to admit our own ignorance and strive to learn. We are all students.
It is much worse to hide a mistake than to recognize it and learn from it. We expect, welcome, and create change because it is a chance to learn. We learn by doing.
We learn most when we truly communicate with others. We have a responsibility to share what we know. We do not use our knowledge to gain power over others. We are all teachers.

3. community

There are no unimportant groups. Each culture has traditions and values that deserve respect. We learn about other cultures and communities so that we can strengthen our own cultures and communities.
We have a responsibility to know and care for others. We can only improve ourselves as we help others to improve. We learn so that we can help others. We succeed when our students surpass us.

4. integrity
We are fair. We have high standards for our own conduct and that of our colleagues. We do what we say we will do.

5. sustainability
What we do has an affect on those who come after us. We strive to create resources, not deplete them; to build others, not use them. We succeed when our students surpass us.
